Hopes for the future, higher, further in Zhuhai
A young girl eats breakfast in Tangjia, Zhuhai city, Guangdong.

In April last year 38 events management student freshmen from the Sun Yat-sen University Zhuhai campus held an ambitious day-long city orienteering event, “City Walks”. as part of their student association activities. More than 1,700 students from local universities took part exploring the Tangjia, Jida and Gongbei districts near the border with Macao. Teams happily posed for cameras in front of a huge poster in front of an international shopping centre, Jida, in central Zhuhai.

Not posing was a small girl sitting alone enjoying her breakfast noodles in the morning sunshine in historic Tangjia, hometown of Tang Shaoyi, the first premier of the Republic of China in 1912. The girl was very capable and independent, expert in using her chopsticks left-handed.

The photo represents the determination, energy and enthusiasm of the hopes for the new China Dream - a future that goes higher, further ...
